Gerardo Pérez Guerra
Vice President & General Manager, EDF Renewables, Mexico

About

Gerardo Pérez Guerra joined EDF Renewables México in November 2014 as Vice President & General Manager, reporting to Tristan Grimbert, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Gerardo’s over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector includes 23 years with Siemens México. For Siemens he held the role of Business Director for the Mesoamerican Energy Market for 13 years. In that role, Gerardo was responsible for sales strategy, negotiation and profit of sales for five divisions and a sales volume of 1.5 Billion USD annually.

During this past year, as Acciona’s Director of Windpower for México and Central America, Gerardo is proud to have led the charge to the signing of a nearly 300MW project in North México and closing an agreement with Actis for the design, engineering and construction of a 50MW wind project in Oaxaca.

Gerardo’s overall wind business development expertise and proficiency in relationship management with industrial sector companies, EPC's, fund investment companies, off takers, developers and government entities, is sure to lead to success as he assumes responsibility for the overall operation and development of EDF EN México’s renewable energy project portfolio and daily operation of the organization.

Blanca Saavedra
Chief Financial Officer

About

Blanca Saavedra joined EDF Renewables as Chief Financial Officer in 2015. Her primary focus is to monitor the financial performance of EDF Renewables and She is responsible for the local accounts within the region. She also supervises the implementation of financial strategy within the EDF EN Group.

Before joining EDF Renewables, Ms. Saavedra developed extensive expertise in the banking sector, with different positions at UniCredit Group Bank AG over a period of 10 years. In her last position as Vice President of Financial Institutions in charge of Latin America, she managed a client’s portfolio worth USD 1 billion in assets based in New York City. She executed both short and long term trade related transactions, treasury products, short and medium term syndicated facilities and cash management, among others.

Ms. Saavedra has a B.A. in Economics from Universidad Anahuac in Mexico, Banking Preparation from the LSE in London and Finance ITAM University in Mexico City.

Victor Tamayo
Regional Director

About

Mr. Tamayo, possesses 20 years of experience in the negotiation and contracting of land for the installation of wind farms mainly in the region the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, as well as the formulation and monitoring of social investment plans necessary for project development. Mr. Tamayo has been involved with the development and operation of over 390 MW of wind power projects in the region.

In addition to real estate contracting, Mr. Tamayo is responsible for community action plans in the areas where wind farms are installed, managing ongoing relationships with municipal and state authorities, as well as issues related to social investment plans and community development.

He is currently responsible for the negotiation and contracting of land for a 300 MW wind development in the communities of Union Hidalgo and La Ventosa, in the state of Oaxaca and addressing permitting and public consultations as required by applicable law and regulation.

Mr. Tamayo, was manager of engineering at ENTEC, S.A. de C.V., which electrified 675 small towns in different states of the Mexico, through the installation of solar, wind, micro-hydro, and hybrid systems.
